going to wind up having to change the blades
eventually. So if you’re looking for some metal
cutting band saw blades, your options are to either head to
the nearest hardware store or Sears and pick some new ones
up, or you could go online and compare and contrast many
different types of metal cutting band saw blades quickly and
easily and make your purchase there.
If you know what you’re doing, you can
easily do the latter. Purchasing online is now common
place and in some cases preferred to going directly to the

through it without issue.
Now here are a few that you might want to
consider picking up:
1. Milwaukee 48-39-0531 Band
Saw Blade Bi-Metal 24 Teeth Per Inch

scale at $16.65, it is by no means the cheapest though as
there are some you can get single blades under
$10.
When you pick this up you’ll get a 3 pack

Milwaukee is a trusted company so you can
be sure that blades you buy with them are going to require
fewer changes than blades you buy elsewhere. They
mention on the description that in fact these should last up
to 3x as long.
2. Craftsman ½ x 114” Band

Back
Here’s another one to consider at $55.99
at Sears. This is to be used for cutting either mild

Craftsman is another trusted name as well
known to produce high quality equipment and
blades.
3. PS Wood Timber Wolf 99 ¾”
x ¾” Band Saw Blade
This one retails for $27.15, it fits the
Craftsman 14” band saw, is made of silicon and low carbon
steel, has low tension, thus requiring less HP and it has
milled teeth.
One reviewer mentions this blade does a
great job of sawing 7.25” mahogany into 3/32” slices when
used on a Craftsman 14” bandsaw with a 1Hp motor. The
cuts left were pretty smooth and didn’t waste much
wood.
